Adventurers and Lovers of Fun (ALFs),
Decided that something had to be done about the cold so I booked a trip just before Easter to my favourite spot at this time of year, the SW tip of the Algarve.
I've never been disappointed with the waves there and indeed the Spring Equinox sometimes brings some monster swells in. There is so much new building going on that picking up a villa out of season for a relatively modest rent is no problem, the people are friendly and not 'in your face', the wine is cheap and generally the sun shines brightly.
So from thoughts of gear for snow, I now need to check out what XSfashion.com and Oxbowshop.co.uk have got to offer in terms of shorts t-shirts and flip flops. I've got to say I do like travelling light and after taking bundles of clothes and thermals and ski wear to Canada over Christmas I'm looking forward to much easier packing in a few weeks.
In terms of boardshorts O'Neill 'Back in the Days' definitely make it and I think at less than £25 a pair of Protest Bond 3D is a no brainer. I quite like Rip Curl's Poker Joker too. So thats half the packing done!
I'm a big fan of Oxbow t-shirts and my first selection will be the rather groovy underworld which to be honest will go well with any of the above mentioned shorts but particularly the Protest and Rip Curl items. As I didn't volunteer to pay the carbon offsetting contribution to Easyjet I will make amends by including the Oxbow Bio Planet T from their 'Naturally Committed' range. 100% organic cotton and an easy conscience. Sorted! Finally for a bit of a laugh and for the name alone I fancy the Rip Curl Wettieskull, bright pink; glow in the dark skull logo. Just the thing for a night out in Lagos.
OK just the flip flops to go, Rip Curl Chansa no contest, great price, in the basket they go.
So that's me sorted. I guess tomorrow I might have to buy the girl a few things to take too.
(Oh yes I guess I need to put a pair of boxers in; Oxbow Ebasco should do the trick:-......................... there again!)
Obrigado and Bom Dia.
